An Ignoble Tale (Act 1.2)

He put his hands to his face, thinking how stupid he was to give the coat to the very same girl who stalked him into town.

The tree didn't have much to say, so Violet kicked it and continued on her way.

Audren looked in the window of the shop, watching for Aserl.

She was busy un-stitching Violet's handiwork, which made him even more confused.

She lowered her ears as she walked. The last time she felt this shitty was when she eaten some seeds of a certain trumpet-like flower, though it was poisonous. She wondered if the rum was poisoned, which made her wonder more why Audren had given it to her.

She was soon done, taking the shambled remains of his coat over to who he assumed was Madame Frelle.

Violet slowed her pace until she stopped, standing there and staring at a tree in front of her. Was that why he had left?
"That bitch..." Violet growled. He had probably gotten tired of following her, she reasoned, and he didn't trust she could really help get his memory back, therefore he poisoned her so he could get away.

"Could I possibly get this traded in for a garment or two of my choice?" She asked, holding the remains of the coat.

Madame Frelle took it and looked at it suspiciously. "Hm.."

Violet began backtracking to the road, fuming though her conclusions were all incorrect speculation. She, however, had her logic set in stone with these particular things.

"Wait, I've seen this before." She said, holding it out so she can see the full thing. "How are all of the various stains and burns gone..?" She asked Asrel, confused.

"Um, some excessive stitching and cleaning, let's just say." Asrel said, her hands behind her back.

Once she had found the road, she began her way towards the town.

"Fair enough, please feel free to pick what you would like." Madame Frelle said, taking the coat into another room.

Aserl looked around the shop, thinking.

She stumbled along, and after a while, not too far away she could see buildings. She made sure her hair covered her ears as she got closer to the town.

Audren walked into the store, looking at Aserl. "Please don't pick my clothes out for me, I can take it from here." He said, rummaging around some racks.

Violet stuck her hands in her pockets as she entered the town. She looked around at crowds and tried to blend in, wondering if Audren was still here.

"Hm, this may suffice." He said, pulling out a white and grey long-sleeved doublet.

Aserl was looking through some tunics at the moment.

Violet walked slow, trying not to stumble like an idiot. She was very out of place, but most people were too caught up with their own business to notice, for which she was grateful.

He slipped on the white long sleeved shirt with some difficulty due to his black undershirt but it wasn't too hard, buttoned that up then slipped on the grey doublet and tied the loose strings securely.

Aserl handed Audren a mirror from a table. "Well, I'd say this works."

Violet leaned against the wall. She wondered how people even dealt with living in places like this. She rubbed her head a bit, as a worse headache was starting to come on. This is all his fault, Violet thought to herself, frowning deeply. She headed down the street, looking through windows as she passed them.

He grabbed his sheathe from a nearby table and slipped it on his back, starting to walk out. "Please give my thanks to Madame Frelle when you can."

Asrel nodded, following him out.

She stopped when she saw Audren walking out of one of the buildings, followed by some girl.

Aserl slipped her arm under his, smiling. Audren on the other hand, had just seen Violet and was about to start running, but was restrained by Aserl.

Violet walked over, half stumbling and mad as hell. She glanced at the girl with some confusion, then grabbed Audren by the collar roughly.

Aserl stepped back a bit, realizing this must be the person Audren was talking about.

He looked at Violet, kind of relaxed. "Look, before you start ripping me apart with your telepathic powers or something, just, let me explain."

She frowned deeply, holding his collar tightly, but she didn't do anything, giving him the chance to 'explain.'

"For starters, I'm sorry for running off. After you going into a bout of depression and mood swings I wasn't sure to do, especially after the times you cut me while we were walking. I went back for the bottle of rum since you seemed curious, and I wanted to somehow fill the void between us by using that as a sort of sentiment, but going by your current condition it did just the opposite. I didn't poison you on purpose or anything of the sort, it was a simple gesture that backfired, and pretty badly at that.."
