An Ignoble Tale (Act 1.2)

She was probably dying of boredom man they're not getting any younger.

Then all of a sudden there were crows.

Lots and lots of crows.

She looked up at them.

Then the crow lady appeared in front of them.

The crows all just perched on the trees around, watching them.

She stopped, waving a bit to her.

She smiled at them casually.

"Ah, just the people I wanted to see."

Audren started to panic, not really sure whether to hide behind Aserl or Violet.

"Hi," Violet said.

She curtsied.

"Greetings. We have some unfinished business, I would say?"

He slowly stepped behind Violet, peeking his head over her shoulder and looked at the crow lady.

Violet shrugged. "I guess so. That's kind of your thing."

"You would be right! Now, do you remember the terms previously discussed the last time we met?"

She said, and the crows kept staring on at them.

Aserl just stared at the crows looking at them.

"Yeah but I said no so..."

She briefly looked at Aserl, then back at Violet.

"Yes I'm quite aware, and I'm going to give you one more chance to reconsider your decision. It will determine whether or not I send my whole flock of crows upon you and take him by force. Like I attempted last time, but the twist is, I'll be here to watch the whole thing!"

Audren shuddered.

"But how long do I have to reconsider?" she asked, tilting her head.

She held her arms out to the side.

"The time you spent running away from me was what you had, now I'm here, so what's it going to be?"

Aserl crossed her arms. "So you're the "crow lady", huh.."

"Well damn. It's still no, though."

She frowned and sighed.

"So we have to do this the hard way? I tried to be nice, oh well!"

The crows continued to stare at them, silent.

He put his hands on Violet's shoulder and looked at her with wide eyes.

"It'd the be the same either way, now wouldn't it?"

"Right you would be."

The crows still just, sat perched on the trees.

He gripped Violet's shoulder a bit tighter.

Violet's ears twitched a bit and she listened to what Audren was thinking at the moment.

His current thoughts composed of; 'I hate crows, I hate crows, I hate crows, I hate crows, I hate crows'. There was also some personal thoughts about feelings and his memory but it's not like that was relevant to the situation at hand.

Aserl kind of just looked around, waiting for something to happen.

Since he was right up behind her she elbowed him in the stomach because his thoughts were annoying as hell and he also got some dried blood on her shoulders. She kept her eyes on the Crow Lady still.

He flinched, stepping back from Violet.

She snapped her fingers and the crows darted forward, their beaks and talons set on the three of them.

Using her telekinesis she sent three knives towards the Crow Lady herself, then turned around and grabbed Audren and pulled him forward, putting an arm around his neck to protect it from the oncoming crows, so it was kind of like a hella safe hug, then pulled him down still being aware of his neck and kind of just shielded him like that.

The crow lady stepped to the side, narrowly dodging the knives. She just stood there and watched.

Aserl ran behind a tree and sort of just watched the torrent of crows as she fumbled around with her satchel, trying to find a weapon.

Audren sort of just stood there since things were out of his hands for the time being. He guessed Violet didn't want him injuring himself with fire again, or just didn't want to bother with stitching his clothes back together and healing burns just like last time.

Violet held onto Audren and used her telekinesis to pull out six more knives. She lifted her hand a bit to make it easier to control them all and started spinning them around to both hit the birds coming to close and to hopefully ward off the rest.
