An Ignoble Tale (Act 1.2)

Violet glanced back at Audren.

Fire appeared in his hands, and he smiled.

Aserl was still watching, unsure of what he was planning.

The crow lady's eyes widened a bit as she saw the fire appear.

Violet made sure to get herself outta the way of that shit.

He sent a stream of fire towards the crow lady, and she dived out of the way of his flames, though one of the feathers on the back of her dress had caught fire.

Audren was still smiling.

Aserl was taken aback, and turned her head away from what was about to probably happen.

She put her knives away and just watched.

She grabbed the dagger and threatened to throw it towards him as the fire quickly spread along the feather on her dress.

Audren just stepped closer, his smile getting bigger.

Aserl just listened from behind the tree.

Violet just watched the flames, finding this pretty enjoyable to watch.

He sent fire in her direction.

The crow lady rolled over, threw the dagger towards Audren and dodged the flame he'd thrown.

Her ears perked up slight and she looked to Audren.

It nailed him in the cheek where Violet had cut him, which cut the wound deeper and wider than before.

His flames suddenly were extinguished as he held a hand to where he had been hit, and closed his eyes.

The crow lady smiled, morphing into a crow and flying off.

"Oooh ow..." Violet mumbled.

He winced, looking at the fresh blood on his hand that was now flowing from the wound.

Aserl was still standing behind the tree, still closing her eyes from when she heard the dagger hit.

Violet pulled out a leaf from her bag and walked over to him.

Aserl walked out from behind the tree and looked at them.

"So..what happened to trying to get her to tell us where..Arcane I think it is..is at?"

Violet pressed the leaf to Audren's cheek and looked over to Aserl with a small shrug.

He breathed out in relief, his eyes still closed.

Aserl nodded, then went over to grab the dagger which had landed in the grass.

Violet turned back to Audren and made sure the leaf was in place before lowering her arm. "There we go. It'll help the wound close up," she explained.

"Thanks.." He said from under his breath.

Aserl picked up the dagger, taking a cloth out of her satchel and beginning to clean the blood off of it.

She nodded a bit.

Aserl cleaned off the dagger, inspected it, then put it into her satchel.

"So, what's next now that this plan appears to have painfully backfired?"

"I dunno."

"I assume we'll know soon enough once our master of plans, Audren gets another bright idea."

She said cynically.

"But he doesn't know shit right now," Violet pointed out.

"I'm not referring to his memory, I'm referring to his brilliant plan that just blew up in his face, almost literally."

"Well he's dumb," she said with a shrug.
