The inn keeper was putting out the lamps when he saw her come in.

He looked at her, recognizing her as the strange girl who had come in earlier with that other boy.

She put her arm down after an awkward moment, looking at the lamps, then back to the inn keeper.

"Back so soon, eh?" He asked, continuing to dim the lamps.

"Uh... yeah..." she said, glancing to the side.

"Where's your friend? At least, I think he is. Ah well, how'd he enjoy that rum he requested?"

He said, pushing in some loose chairs around the inn.

"He walked away..." she said, leaning against the wall. "He got mad at me and left..." She slid down a bit, lowering her ears. "He's being stupid, anyway..."

He tapped his fingers on a nearby table, facing away from her.

She sighed. "It was fine... for a bit... then he started being an asshole..."

"I suppose it's my fault for giving him the bottle in the first place, since I told him specifically not to come running to me if he does something dumb." The inn keeper said, still tapping his fingers.

She slid until she was sitting against the wall, then looked down at her lap.

"Well I'm about to close up so you're gonna have to leave I'm afraid," He said, taking a sign off the counter and going towards the front window.

"Fine, fine, you can stay over the night, free of charge, but I'd like you out whenever's most convenient. I've already made one mistake with giving your friend that rum, and I don't need to lose anymore money after this."

He said, handing her a room key and going into the back room.
