An Ignoble Tale (Act 1.1)

He snapped his fingers and a small spark appeared.

She scratched the back of her head.

"Hm.."

She looked to the side, her ears twitching.

He attempted to increase the size of the spark, except in attempting to do so it just sort of burnt out.

She looked around as if she heard something.

Audren sighed, looking over at Violet.

She seemed rather distracted.

He looked at her with one eyebrow raised.

She blinked and looked back at him. "...Yeah?..." she asked as though he'd said something.

"You just seemed a bit.. out of it."

She frowned slightly. "What does that mean?"

"I dunno, it was like you were tuned out to everything except whatever was distracting you."

"Oh."
She didn't go any farther with that conversation and started walking again.

Audren lowered his head and kept moving on.

She looked up at the sky.

As they kept walking on, the trees eventually cleared into open, green plains free from the obscurity of the branches.

Violet looked around as the walked out into the open. She lowered her ears slightly.

"Well, this is a nice change of scenery, I suppose." Audren remarked.

She nodded slightly.

He looked up at the sun, which was at a bit past noon, but not quite setting.

She glanced behind herself briefly.

"Hm."

She looked back out at the plains.

He looked down, just noticing the tall grass.
